This is a blog dedicated to a career lifestyle, to engage in the perception of someone who has worked within the world of boarding schools and residences for young people as an alternative person who is both a House Parent and later on their career also became a parent. Your author, me, is not someone who came from a background of privelige where independent education was an option, but someone who grew up in a lower socioeconomic background and has yet found normality in a career of culture shock.
I chose to write this blog to educate on what it is like to work in a career like this one, to challenge misconceptions of what it means to be a part of boarding, to discuss questions I have searched for in the past, and to celebrate some of the amazing opportunities this career has provided.
